Finding Forward Without Force

A free four-part live webinar series for riders who want ease, willingness, and joy back in their riding

If you have ever felt that riding takes more effort than it should, this series is for you.

Finding Forward Without Force is a free live webinar series exploring why forward movement often disappears, and how it returns when we stop pushing and begin listening more closely to the horse.

The four-part series begins on Sunday 11th January.

hey there!

I'm Diana

When I speak to riders, I hear the same story again and again.

Most of us began with a simple dream. Riding that felt light, flowing, and harmonious. A sense of moving together with the horse, rather than managing every step.

For many riders, that dream becomes harder to reach over time. Forward starts to require constant encouragement, and riding takes more effort than it feels it should. Lessons can leave both horse and rider tired, tense, and quietly wondering whether this is really how it’s meant to feel. Somewhere along the way, some of us even forget that we had this dream to begin with.

If you recognise this, you are not alone. I experienced it myself, and I see it in thoughtful, capable riders all the time. It doesn’t happen because you aren’t trying hard enough, and it isn’t a lack of commitment or care.

This is why I created the Finding Forward Without Force webinar series.

The work I share here explores a different way forward. One that does not rely on pushing, nagging, or doing more, but instead focuses on the conditions that allow forward movement and willingness to emerge naturally.

Across the four sessions, I’ll guide you through how ease, balance, and true forward develop when we slow down enough to listen. Rather than adding more techniques, we’ll explore what changes when pressure is reduced and understanding increases.

We’ll look at why many horses labelled as “lazy” are actually responding logically to imbalance or tension, how a particular internal state can replace effort with ease, why the walk is often the most powerful place to create lasting change, and how effortless riding is not a talent you either have or don’t have, but a skill that can be learned.

If this approach speaks to you, you are warmly invited to come along.

The four webinars

1. When “Lazy” Isn’t the Truth
This session explores why horses that need constant pushing are often misunderstood, and how seeing the situation more clearly opens a completely different path forward.

2. If Pushing Isn’t the Answer, What Is?
We will look at a particular state in both horse and rider that allows movement to feel lighter and more willing, without force or driving.

3. What Becomes Possible When You Stay at the Walk
This webinar focuses on why slowing down, especially at walk, is often the missing step that allows trust, desire, and genuine forward to appear.

4. Effortless Riding Is a Skill
In the final session, we explore how ease in riding is trained over time, and what it looks like to develop this skill step by step in a way that lasts.

Who this series is for

This series is for riders who sense there may be an easier, more fulfilling way to ride, and who want to understand that path rather than override their horse. It is especially suited to riders who care deeply about their horse’s comfort and willingness, and who are open to slowing down in order to move forward with clarity.
